Skelton – U.S. Political Enforcement Trends

 In Blog

New Enforcement Developments – Politicom’s Jennie Skelton detailed the findings of a national survey on political enforcement trends at the 2017 conference of the Council on Governmental Ethics Laws (COGEL).

“It’s fascinating to see how regulators throughout the country are tackling violations in campaign finance, lobbying and ethics,” Skelton said. “This year’s findings continue to underscore the risk exposure for potential violators…the target is intensifying.”

At the COGEL conference, Skelton joined a panel of experts including Wayne Barnett of the Seattle Ethics & Elections Commission, Daniel Petalas, Former Acting General Counsel of the Federal Election Commission and Mark Wasielewski, Deputy Ethics Enforcement Officer of the Connecticut Office of State Ethics, to present their findings and insights, along with the publication of the COGEL Blue Book: Enforcement Trends 2016.
