Federal – Lawsuit Filed Against FEC for Small-Donor Disclosure Requirement

Tony McDonald, an attorney and general counsel for the Tarrant County Republican Party, has filed a lawsuit in the Northern District of Texas challenging the Federal Election Commission’s (FEC) recently passed disclosure requirement for conduit PAC small-donors who give less than $200 to a campaign or committee. The lawsuit alleges the requirements violate a person’s First Amendment right to anonymity associated with free speech.
