Minnesota – Foreign Influence Ban Challenged of First Amendment Grounds

 In Blog, Updates

The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce has filed a lawsuit challenging a new State law that prohibits foreign influenced corporations from making independent expenditures or ballot measure contributions.

Foreign influenced corporations are defined as those with foreign ownership of at least 5% from several investors or 1% from any single foreign investor.  The Minnesota Chamber alleges that the ban chills impacted companies from publicly engaging on applicable campaigns and issues.
