New Mexico – SB 34 Primed to Enact Revolving Door Law
SB 34, a bill that would place a two-year lobbying ban on former legislators, advanced out of the New Mexico Senate Rules Committee this week, clearing a hurdle that places passage in sight. The measure passed 6-4 after the policy was expanded to prohibit legislators from not only lobbying their former collogues for two years, but the executive branch as well. The bill is now headed for the Judiciary Committee where it will likely pass and head for a floor vote.
